Today’s card design is a something I need to remind myself of every once in a while: more joy now!
I get caught up in my daily routines and have a fairly full schedule at any given time. Sometimes I forget about just breathing and giving myself some much needed downtime – and it really impacts my happiness for worse. It probably sounds a bit childish to demand more joy, but it helps me to focus on the good stuff…
So obvs I had to turn that reminder into a card!
- black cardstock, a white gel pen and an alphabet stamp set from RicoDesign’s PaperPoetry line
- triangle cutting die from Spellbinders “party banners” set
- dark grey watercolor by Pelikan, from a set I “inherited” from my dad years ago – it is positively ancient, haha.
When I want to stamp onto photographs as with the cutouts for this card I prefer to use water colors. The ink that came with the stamp set doesn’t seem to fully try on glossy paper – unfortunately it just smudges… But the water colors make a good substitute really, especially since I love the slightly distressed look on this type of paper.
